How to analyze text data thematically or categorically
AddMaple allows you to edit and refine your themes or categories iteratively. You can use Gen AI to suggest codes for you or you can add codes yourself.
Before AddMaple’s AI suggests codes, it scans the text to understand it. You can edit the codes it generated, delete and add your own before applying with AI. You can review, edit and add codes yourself - you remain in full control.
Here's how it works:
Getting Codes with AI
Click the "Get codes with AI" button, enter the rough number of codes you want to be generated along with some optional instructions. For example if you want the AI to focus on extracting bugs from reviews you could enter the instructions: "only generate codes relating to bugs or issues".
Editing and Adding Codes
Before applying the codes to your content, you can add, delete or edit.
Using AI to Apply Codes
When you have your codes ready, click the "Apply codes with AI" button and let AddMaple do its magic. If you have a large dataset this process may take some time - you will receive an email when the process has been completed.
Reviewing and adjusting codes
By clicking on the "Apply codes yourself" button you will be taken to a table view showing you the raw text data along with any applied codes. You can add or edit codes from this view.
